Steineke Statement on Retirement of Rep. Mike Rohrkaste
MADISON – Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna) released the following statement following Rep. Mike Rohrkaste’s announcement that he will retire from the Wisconsin State Assembly at the end of this term:
“I can’t thank Mike enough for his dedication to his constituents and the state of Wisconsin. Mike has proven to be a committed legislator, advocate, and friend throughout his time in the Assembly.
“For the last 5 years, our body has enjoyed his wisdom and experience, most notably as he served on the Joint Committee on Finance and chaired the Speaker’s Task Force on Alzheimer’s and Dementia. His steadfast work has resulted in a Wisconsin that does more for those in need, all while maintaining a balanced budget – an achievement that Mike should be proud of.
“I am confident that the Fox Valley Memory Project will enjoy the same things that made Mike such an asset to the state Assembly as he moves into his new role as the non-profit’s Executive Director. Although his leadership and experience will be sorely missed here in Madison, I wish Mike all the best as he moves on to this next chapter.”
