Senate Approves Wetlands Bill – Headed to Governor

MADISON – Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna) released the following statement following the state Senate passing legislation that Rep. Steineke authored to promote economic development and growth in Wisconsin while still maintaining a high environmental standard for the state’s wetlands:

“Having heard from people all over the state on how these necessary reforms will save them money, time, and countless headaches, I am proud to see this legislation pass out of the state Senate today. Working alongside Senator Roth and Senator Cowles, we were able to produce a bill that encourages economic development and removes unnecessary red tape, while simultaneously protecting our high-quality wetlands and waterfowl habitats.”

The bill now heads to the desk of Governor Walker for his signature.
