Republican Budget Prioritizes Highway 15
MADISON – Governor Evers announced today that construction is set to begin in September of 2021 on the Hortonville bypass on State Highway 15 project. Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna) released the following statement regarding the Republican-backed “WISCONSIN Budget” including funding for the project:
“Advocating for the safety and support of our growing communities, I am proud to stand behind the WISCONSIN Budget that allocates funds to keep the Highway 15 project moving forward. Our neighbors and families deserve to feel secure on our roads.
“It’s local projects like the Highway 15 bypass that could be jeopardized should Governor Evers make a historic decision of vetoing the WISCONSIN Budget. Having heard from over 40,000 Wisconsinites, our budget reflects the wants and needs of hard-working families from every corner of the state – including the allocated funding for Highway 15. It is my hope that Governor Evers also heeds the voice of the people and votes to approve the WISCONSIN Budget.”
