Madison . . . Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke (R – Kaukauna) released the following statement in response to Rep. John Murtha’s (R- Baldwin) retirement announcement:

“Ever since he was first elected 10 years ago, Rep. Murtha has been a true example of a citizen legislator. As a lifelong resident of the 29th District, his commitment to Northwest Wisconsin has been unwavering. As Republican Caucus chair, he’s been a dedicated and gracious leader. John has devotedly served his community and state, and we are grateful for his contributions. He will be greatly missed. We wish him all the best as he enjoys his retirement and more time with his family.”
