Rep. Jim Steineke Statement on Saving SeniorCare

Madison . . . Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke (R – Kaukauna) released the following statement today in response to the Joint Finance Committee (JFC) removing the SeniorCare changes Governor Walker included in the state budget:

“The Joint Finance Committee’s decision to restore SeniorCare is the right thing to do. One of the most common budget concerns I've heard from constituents has been the SeniorCare changes. Since the program began in 2001, it's enabled seniors to purchase supplemental prescription coverage to help with medications that may not be covered by Medicare. It has a proven track record of savings costs and making it easier for our seniors to purchase their prescriptions. I’ve appreciated hearing the concerns from many folks in my district, and I'm pleased to report that JFC has preserved this cost-saving program.”
