West Bend Dentist to be Recognized as WI Assembly ‘Hometown Hero’
MADISON – The Wisconsin State Assembly will recognize Dr. Tom Albiero from West Bend, Wisconsin as a “Hometown Hero” at the upcoming Assembly session on May 10th.
Dr. Albiero, who was nominated by his State Representative, Bob Gannon, has been a volunteer providing dental services to the Washington County community for years. In 2015, he introduced the Albrecht Free Clinic, a dental clinic that provides dental care to shoe living at or below the poverty level. A unique aspect of the clinic is all dentist and hygienist time is volunteered, with Dr. Albiero being instrumental in coordinating volunteers and finding the necessary clinic equipment.
Since opening its doors, the Albrecht Free Clinic has provided over 500 free dental visits to financially eligible residents of Washington County. Dr. Albiero serves on the clinic’s Board of Directors as well as the Director of Dental Services.
The Wisconsin State Assembly sees giving back to the community as one of the most valuable characteristics one can have. The Assembly Hometown Heroes program seeks to identify and recognize individuals from around the state who give of themselves to make a difference in our communities and in the lives of those around them. Hometown Hero Award winners are invited and introduced as a special guest at an Assembly floor session and given the opportunity to speak.
