Governor Backs Sunset Bill
MADISON – Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna) released the following statement after Governor Walker announced his support for the representative’s administrative code sunset legislation at the Small Business Summit today in Rothschild:
“I want to thank Governor Walker for offering his backing of this important legislation, and in turn supporting Wisconsin’s small businesses and taxpayers. Working together with Sen. Darling, I’m committed to keeping our administrative code from becoming burdensome, ineffective, and wasteful.”
Assembly Bill 384 would set chapters of Wisconsin’s administrative code to expire 7 years after adoption – helping to ensure dated or burdensome regulations don’t remain on the books in perpetuity. The bill recently received support during a public hearing in the Assembly Committee on Regulatory Licensing Reform. More information on the bill can be found here.
