Rep. Steineke Committed to Moving Wisconsin Forward
MADISON – Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna) released the following statement regarding the election of Tony Evers as Governor of Wisconsin:
“Over the last eight years, under Governor Walker’s leadership, our conservative reforms have made Wisconsin a better place to live, work, and play. While I am certainly disappointed that Governor Walker will not return to the important work we’ve been advancing, I am proud to live in a country that allows for democracy; the voters have spoken.
I will do everything in my power to find common interests and priorities to work with our new governor on. However, I and my colleagues in the Assembly will not allow for backsliding. We will stand by our reforms passed over the last eight years that have made government more efficient and responsive to its citizens. We will continue our trend of moving Wisconsin forward.”
