Local Lawmakers Applaud Federal Funds for Hwy 29 Interchange
Madison – State Representatives Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna), John Nygren (R-Marinette), David Steffen (R-Green Bay), and Gary Tauchen (R-Bonduel) released the following statement following the announcement that Brown County will receive $20 million in federal grant funding through the Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) Discretionary Grant for the State Highway 29-County Highway VV Interchange project:
“As representatives for the Fox Valley, we are both excited and proud to see the BUILD grant funds being utilized for this incredibly important project in Brown County. Over the summer, we advocated for these funds and offered our support for this worthy project through a letter to the Secretary of Transportation. We worked closely with county officials to promote Brown County and this development as a deserving recipient for the BUILD grant.
“In terms of economic growth, community building, and safety, this corridor will prove to be an improvement worthwhile to the Fox Valley, northeastern Wisconsin, and its surrounding areas. The project will be welcomed by residents and businesses alike as this thriving area continues to grow and prosper.
“We would like to offer our thanks and congratulations to Brown County officials for their incredibly hard work on securing these grants. Their dedication to our residents and communities is unparalleled, and it shows in their efforts on this project.”
