Conservative Reforms Create Bright Outlook for Wisconsin Financials

MADISON – Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna) released the following statement applauding the announcement made by Governor Walker that Moody’s Investors Service has upgraded Wisconsin’s General Obligation rating to Aa1:

“For the past seven years, we have paid close attention to ensuring Wisconsin’s finances were treated with care for the taxpayers’ dollars. Those conservative reforms and fiscal responsibility are translating into a stable and accountable future for Wisconsin’s finances.

While other states in the Midwest continue to fall in their ratings, our reforms are continuing to pay dividends for taxpayers and ultimately creating savings for Wisconsin families. This is the first time in 44 years Moody’s Investors Service has upgraded Wisconsin’s rating, proving our reforms are working for Wisconsin.”
