Seasons Greetings!

I would like to wish everyone in our community and throughout all of Wisconsin the happiest of holiday seasons and a wonderful New Year!  May you all get the chance to spend time with your loved ones while enjoying the beautiful winter landscape throughout the 1st district.  Be sure to check out my short holiday video greeting by clicking here!

As we move into 2018, I plan to continue advocating on your behalf to improve school funding throughout Wisconsin, provide clean water access for everyone in our district, and ensure that we remain the best tourist destination in the state.

Transfer of College Credits Bill Passes out of Committee!

I was very excited to learn that my Transfer of College Credits bill, Assembly Bill 559, has passed the Assembly Colleges and Universities Committee.  This bill will provide incoming college students some much needed financial relief by ensuring that they will not be wasting their time and money on retaking a course in which they are already proficient.

The rising cost of tuition is a hurdle that many families struggle with, and high school seniors are often faced with the choice of either taking on years of debt or foregoing college altogether.  I feel that this bill is a small but important piece of legislation that will go a long way towards making the dream of graduating college without significant debt more attainable for Wisconsin's youth.

WDOR Interview!

It was such a delight to have had the opportunity to discuss current and upcoming legislation with you all on WDOR earlier this week.  I always look forward to these radio spots as they give me a chance to receive direct feedback and insight about the issues that affect all of us living in the 1st district.

This month's topics ranged from the Blue Ribbon Commission on School Funding, of which I am co-chairing with Sen. Olsen (R-14), to the latest information on NR 151.  I look forward to bringing everything we discussed back to Madison so that I can continue to be a strong voice for our district.
