Rep. Rohrkaste Presents Final Report from Task Force
on Alzheimer’s and Dementia

Madison, WI – Today, Representative Mike Rohrkaste (R-Neenah), Chair of the Speaker’s Task Force on Alzheimer’s and Dementia, released the task force’s final report. On hand for the report release were Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) as well as fellow members of the task force and representatives from the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin and the Alzheimer’s Association. The final report includes a recap of what the task force accomplished, most importantly an expansion of the state’s respite care program, and six additional recommendations for the future.

"Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia continue to affect thousands of Wisconsinites every day,” said Rep. Rohrkaste. “The Speaker’s Task Force on Alzheimer’s and Dementia was a huge step forward in addressing some of the problems Alzheimer’s and dementia pose, as well as raising awareness about the diseases.

“I know that it will take time, but I will continue to work with my colleagues to find solutions, particularly for the shortage of health care workers, and that is why I have made additional recommendations. I would like to thank Speaker Vos for forming this task force and appointing me chair. I would also like to thank all of the task force members and those who testified at our public hearings. This task force was truly a bipartisan effort.”
